General description:
Caney Lake has all the attributes of a thousand acre ranch packed into 207 acres...open meadows, food plots, thickets, Crosstimbers, hardwood uplands, wetlands and a 9 acre lake.
It is apparent that all great recreational properties have a key water feature and the lake on this tract does not disappoint. A shallow upper end attracts hundreds of migrating waterfowl each year consisting of mostly puddle ducks, but with a fair number of divers on the deeper water, as well as Canada geese. A day's bag limit could produce 7 to 10 different species of waterfowl. The lake is stocked and appears to in excellent shape with a fairly high population of largemouth bass that are definitely not underfed; bluegill and other baitfish are readily available.
The thick, native habitat provides ideal cover and food sources for deer, turkey and non-game animals alike. Game camera pictures have produced some impressive bucks, one of which has been estimated in the mid 160's inches. Several food plots have been planted and there is one large field that would make an ideal dove field.
At 1.5 hours from Dallas-Ft.Worth, this ranch will be tough to match.
