Ask Trevor Potts
West Mud Creek Ranch is prime example of healthy Crosstimbers habitat that provides both excellent hunting, as well as grazing. Thick pastures with both improved and native grasses currently support 30 cow-calf pairs. This area of Jefferson County is comprised of huge land holdings which help reduce overall hunting pressure thus increasing game populations and heath. Big whitetail deer, large flocks of wild turkey and even quail are a testament to the quality of the habitat and size of neighboring ranches. Winter pasture could be planted as it once was to increase carrying capacity of livestock and provide a big attraction for wildlife. Dove fields and additional waterfowl habitat could easily be added to this already diverse property.
