General Description:
The Claypool Cattle Ranch is located just East of the historic Chisholm Trail in Ringling, Oklahoma. In this part of the State there is a hard transition from Crosstimbers and brush into the prairie plains region that is home to the oldest and largest ranches in Oklahoma. The grazing on this property consists of over 190 acres of Bermuda grass, and 84 acres of B-Dahl Bluestem hay fields with the balance of acreage in native grasses. The ranch improvements include a 1,700 sf rock ranch home along with a two car garage and workshop, with the barn and working pens located nearby. The barn is an older, well-maintained drive through grain barn with a tack room, feed room & two stalls. The working pens have been modified and reinforced to handle rough stock or any cattle you may have. This ranch is currently being ran as a cow-calf operation handling up to 150 pairs while yielding a self sustaining hay crop. The seven ponds and a water well feeding three concrete water troughs provide ample water to the nine pastures and three smaller traps. This allows the current owners to implement rotational grazing and plenty of room to wean calves. The class II soils are also ideal for wheat ground which they have historically been planted to on occasion.
