Located in Stephens County, OK on a paved road, the Carter Ranch is well positioned for both the Oklahoma City and Dallas Ft. Worth markets. After passing through the keypad entry front gate a private gravel ranch road gracefully winds 3/4 of a mile toward the heart of the property. On the way to the cabin and shops, you will pass a stunning deep pond on the west side of the road that is stocked with bass, perch, catfish and fathead minnows. The road reaches its final destination in a park-like setting with a cabin overlooking the lake, the large shop overlooking the baseball field and the manicured Bermuda lawn stretching through the mature timber bottom next to the lake. Within 8 miles of the ranch, there are 3 different lakes used for local city water supply. These 3 lakes provide additional fishing and also roost a healthy population of waterfowl. When the birds are in they leave these lakes in the morning and bounce between the local watershed lakes and ponds in the area. The neck of the lake on this property creates a great wind block and inviting place for birds to loaf during the day. It also creates an area that can be strategically hunted in any wind. Stephens County isn't the most well-known county in Oklahoma for big deer but those who know the area can testify that there are some incredible deer harvested in the area every year. On a personal note, the largest buck I have harvested to date was taken less than 8 miles away from the Carter Ranch and grossed just over 179".
